Don’t give up mama.
9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 ESV
I have homeschooled for ten years and every single February is the hardest month for homeschooling! I don’t understand the science behind it, but every single year I have seen sweet families getting tired, angry, frustrated with homeschooling. It is not just the parents either, the children also struggle. I would encourage not to make any lasting decisions about homeschooling in February. Sadly, this is the time of the year that some people also make decisions about school for next year and I see a lot of families deciding that school would be better for their children. Just as you are told not to make permanent decisions about babies while you are pregnant or have a newborn, I would give the same caution for making permanent schooling decisions in February.
If the Lord has called you to this journey of homeschooling, he will give you the strength to persevere. You can do this sweet mama. It will get better, this is simply a season, and it too will pass. Give yourself and your children so much grace during this month. We can also be thankful that it is the shortest month. Take the time to do some of the activities that you and your children enjoy the most this month. Cuddling on the couch and reading books is totally school. Watch some beautiful musicals or documentaries. Bring joy to your homeschool as you endure the hardships, because like everything in life they will come. Let me conclude with my favorite verse that always encourages me as we are going through hardships.
2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith[b] into this grace in which we stand, and we[c] rejoice[d] in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:2-5
